On June 6, Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Grigol Nemsadze, Kvemo Kartli governor, Zaur Dargal and Ramaz Budaghashvili, the Mayor of Gardabani, opened a memorial of the first woman Muslim woman elected in Tbilisi self-government in the village of Karajala.

Phari-Hanum Sophieva was an ethnically Azeri, who in 1918 managed to obtain a mandate of the MP by the Democratic Party, as an independent candidate.

After the opening of the memorial Grigol Nemsadze together with the central and local authorities met with the local population in the Karajali Public School and the family members of Pari-Khanum  Sophieva.
