On May 30, construction of the combined cycle thermal power plant "Gardabani Thermal 2" in Gardabani started.

The new energy efficiency of the combined cycle, 230 MW thermal power plant is scheduled for 2019-2020 winter season. JSC "Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation" is funded entirely by the construction.

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Chinese Company TCC Supervisory Board, Gardabani Thermal Power Plant 2, invited guests from China and Energy- Experts.

Governor of Kvemo Kartli, Grigol Nemsadze and head of local municipalities were present.

Today, "Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation" and CNCEC signed a memorandum on the development of chemical industry development in Georgia, which implies several hundreds of millions of dollars of investment.
