March 7 is the birthday of Georgian national hero Zhiuli Shartava. Zhiuli Shartava will be 74 years old. Deputy Governor of Kvemo Kartli Kakha Koberidze, Rustavi Mayor Irakli Tabagua, Chairman of City Council Levan Oniani and other local self-government representatives paid homage to the memory of the national hero and decorated his monument.

Zhiuli Shartava was headed by Rustavi City Committee in 1985-1986.

Political, state and public figure, chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and the Chairman of the Defense Council, on September 27, 1993 - separatists shot on the fall of Sukhumi.

After the death, Zhiuli Shartava was awarded the title of the national hero of Georgia.
