On June 1, on the initiative of the Bolnisi Municipality, vineyards were planted on the terraces of the Petre-Pavle monastery complex.

The event was attended by the Chief Archbishop Ephraim, Governor of Kvemo Kartli, Grigol Nemsadze and Mayor of the Municipality Davit Sherazadishvili together with the deputies and invited guests.

Later, in order to popularize the Bolnisi wine, wine tasting produced by family farms was held on the territory of the Monastery, where there were 40 varieties of 20 wine cellars.

Archbishop Ephraim addressed the invited guests and highlighted the importance of local winemaking.

Representatives of tourist companies, winemakers association and other organizations interested in the topic, who together with central and local government members visited the Bolnisi Sioni and Tsugiragasheni monastery complexes.

"First of all, I want to congratulate everyone on the International Children's Day and Nino's holiday. I want every kid happy childhood and a bright future. We actively carry out projects and activities that serve to maximize their development and needs.

As for today's event, I am glad that Bolnisi Municipality contributes to the development of local business and promotion of wine produced by family farms. Local production wine is especially interested in both Georgian and international markets. This direction, further development, promotes both the region's economic and tourism as well as the country.
