On March 7, with the support of the European Union, a meeting was held in the Kvemo Kartli province on the development of rural development, which was attended by deputy governor Kakha Koberidze and representatives of municipalities.
The meeting aimed at informing the local self-government representatives and supporting the effective approach of sustainable development. In consideration of the topic, special attention was paid to the implementation of the Action Plan of the Rural Development of Georgia in 2018-2020, the importance of the implementation of EU LEADER approach in the development of civic and community participation and European models in rural development, including local community development.
Participants discussed economical, environmental and social issues, including sustainable management of forests, protection of biodiversity, climate change, poverty reduction, economic growth and development in rural areas.
It is noteworthy that meetings are planned with the European Union (EU) in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), organized by the Policy and Management Consulting Group (PMCG), within the framework of the EU (EU) Rural and Agricultural European Neighborhood Program (ENPARD) And the Ministry of Infrastructure and Georgia Environment and Ministry of Agriculture.
